In the aftermath of the martial law incident, Czech negotiators entered Korea on the 9th and are conducting due diligence on the headquarters and factories of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power for five days and four nights.

KHNP said Czech negotiators visited Korea again on the 9th after staying in Korea for two weeks last month and conducting due diligence on KHNP's headquarters, Ulsan Saeul Nuclear Power Plant, and Changwon Doosan Efficiency Plant.

This time, it is known that the company is conducting an overall quality check by looking around the headquarters of KHNP and Korea Electric Power Technology in Gimcheon.

A KHNP official said, "There were concerns that the recent martial law and impeachment would disrupt the nuclear power plant order contract, but the Czech Republic said the political situation and the nuclear power plant contract are separate, so I don't think it will affect the originally planned schedule."

Earlier, a local media outlet said Thomas Eller, acting director of nuclear new technology at the Czech Ministry of Industry, said in an e-mail interview that he did not expect any delay in signing a contract with South Korea or proceeding with a new nuclear power plant construction project at this time.

Earlier in July, the Czech government selected Team Korea, led by KHNP, as the preferred bidder for the construction of two new nuclear power plants, which is estimated to be around 24 trillion won.

The two sides are negotiating over detailed conditions, including prices, with the aim of signing a final contract to build two nuclear power plants by March next year.
