Representatives Jin Jong-oh and Han Ji-ah of the People's Power expressed their intention to vote for the second impeachment motion of the president of Yoon Suk Yeol on the 14th.
Jin held a press conference at the National Assembly and said, "It is a decision to protect the constitutional spirit and democracy of the Republic of Korea."
He then said he realized that the martial law incident clearly undermined the value and philosophy of his and his people's power, stressing that he will try to overcome the situation and win the trust of the people again.
Rep. Han Ji-ah also pointed out on her SNS that the president's future is the people's choice, not themselves, and that the party should follow it, and if our choice does not meet the public's common sense, we should quickly admit it and correct it.
So far, seven ruling party lawmakers have publicly approved of President Yoon's impeachment, including Jin and Han, Kim Sang-wook, Kim Ye-ji, Kim Jae-seop, Ahn Cheol-soo, and Cho Kyung-tae.
