Admiral Park Chan-keuk, the Navy Reserve Brigadier General of the Third Marine Corps, dies...He was 98 years old.

Admiral Park Chan-geuk, Navy Reserve Brigadier General, passed away today (12th) at the age of 98.

The late Admiral Park Chan-geuk, born in 1926, joined the Naval Academy as a third class in 1947 and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Navy in 1950.The deceased

started his military career as a 450-ton Geumgangsan ship (PC-702) sailor and participated in the recapture of Yeongheung Island and the landing of Incheon during the Korean War, and was awarded the Chungmu Order of Merit and the Hwarang Order of Merit as his major.

Since then, the deceased was dispatched as a liaison officer to the U.S. Far East Fleet Los Angeles (LA) in 1951 and built a relationship with Admiral Alei Burke, who served three terms as chief of staff of the U.S. Navy.

Admiral Burke also introduced the principles of the U.S. Navy, calling the deceased his "son in Korea."The deceased

served as consul general of Las Palmas and ambassador to Bolivia after his discharge from the military.

The funeral will be held by the head of the personnel staff of the Navy Headquarters, and the mortuary will be the funeral hall of the Seoul Central Veterans Hospital.

The funeral ceremony will be held at the funeral hall of Seoul Central Veterans Hospital on the morning of the 14th and will be enshrined at the Seoul National Cemetery on the same day.
