President Aleksandar Vucic has declared that he will fully accept the demands of the protesters after more than a month of anti-government protests following the collapse of the roof of Serbia's Novisad railway station.
President Vucic held a press conference on the 11th local time and said he would release all government documents and prosecutors' data on repairing the roof of the train station.
It also released all those arrested during the protests and promised to pardon all those found guilty in subsequent trials.
Vucic, who won re-election two years ago after taking office in 2017, has been authoritarian, including a hard-line crackdown on anti-government protests, and this is the first time he has given in to the demands of protesters, Reuters said.
But student protesters say they will continue to protest until those involved in the disaster are punished and those who have been detained in the past are released.
Earlier on the 1st of last month, 15 citizens were killed and two others were seriously injured when a concrete roof collapsed suddenly less than four months after the renovation was completed at Serbia's Novisad railway station.
Serbs protested that corruption and negligence caused poor construction, and when the government cracked down hard, it turned into a large-scale demonstration involving university students.
