The U.S. and other foreign media are paying attention to the second impeachment attempt against President Yoon Suk Yeol and giving prospects for the National Assembly vote and the investigation of President Yoon.

The Wall Street Journal reported that President Yoon, who had been unpopular even before martial law, had the lowest approval rating in the world.

The Washington Post reporter predicted Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment and arrest in an online conversation with the Center for Strategic and International Studies, an American think tank.

[Michelle Yehee Lee / Washington Post Tokyo bureau chief: The most likely is impeachment this weekend and could actually happen with an arrest. Impeachment and arrest do not eliminate each other's effect.

Patrick Cronin, a security chair at the Hudson Institute, also wrote that he believes a second attempt by Congress to impeach him will be successful.

At the same time, he evaluated that Seoul is now facing a political era after the Yoon Suk Yeol regime.

The BBC quoted Western diplomats as saying they hoped for a swift resolution of the situation and that impeachment would be a step in the right direction.

Earlier, the U.S. government described South Korea's impeachment as a democratic political process and stressed that it should not be disturbed.

[Marsh Miller / U.S. State Department spokesman (last 9th): What we want to see in this time of trial and uncertainty and what we have happily confirmed in the past few days is the democratic resilience of South Korea.]

The Wall Street Journal reported that the approval rating of leaders in advanced countries is on the decline, and in particular, President Yoon ranked the lowest among 25 countries with a 15% approval rating, even though the survey was conducted before the martial law crisis.

The newspaper introduced that the unpopular President Yoon faced a second impeachment attempt after declaring martial law.
