The 'axis of resistance' centered on Iran is rapidly shaking after the collapse of Syria's Bashar al-Assad regime.

According to the New York Times (NYT) on the 14th, Naim Qasem, the head of Lebanon's armed faction Hezbollah, said Iran's supply route through Syria has been blocked.

"The situation could change in the future," Kasem said, adding that he would seek ways to restore the supply route.

Hezbollah has so far procured various supplies, including Iranian weapons, through Syria, which borders Lebanon.

However, as Syrian rebels toppled the Iranian-backed al-Assad regime, the supply route of such supplies failed to function properly.

For Hezbollah, it is analyzed that the impact of the collapse of the supply route in Syria will not be small.

Hezbollah, the most powerful proxy in Iran's "axis of resistance," suffered damage from extermination of its command and devastation of its military assets before a ceasefire with Israel was reached last month.

Some around Hezbollah argue that the ceasefire itself is a victory, but some say that it has reached a level where the organization has to be concerned about its survival.

Hezbollah, which is in urgent need of rebuilding supply routes, has also expressed a conciliatory stance that it is willing to talk to Syrian rebels, who have been hostile so far.

From Iran's point of view, the collapse of the supply route in Syria is expected to be a strategic blow.

Iran has supported Houthis and Iraqi militias in Yemen, as well as Hezbollah through Syrian supply routes. The cutoff of supply routes to Syria, which served as the 'axis of resistance' supply hub for goods

, could be seen as a weakening of the influence of Iran, the Shiite leader.

Israel, meanwhile, launched airstrikes on various military facilities in Syria after the collapse of Assad's regime, while also sending ground forces.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed at a recent news conference that Syria was an "outpost of Iranian terrorism."
