President Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment trial begins...Today's first meeting of judges.

The Constitutional Court, which received the National Assembly's impeachment resolution against President Yoon Suk Yeol, has begun impeachment proceedings.

Today (16th) will hold the first judge meeting to discuss future schedules and detailed procedures.

Six judges, including acting Constitutional Court Chief Justice Moon Hyung-bae, reviewed the case at their respective homes even on holidays.

The Constitutional Court plans to discuss the detailed schedule of handling the case at its first meeting of judges since the filing of the impeachment trial.

Two "lifelong judges" will be designated to investigate evidence and clear up case issues, and a "legal review task force" will be formed with constitutional researchers as in the impeachment of former President Park Geun Hye.

A random electronic dividend method also determines the presiding judge to lead the case.

The Constitutional Court will also serve a copy of the impeachment request to President Yoon and request him to submit a response, notifying him that the case has been filed.

The Constitutional Court plans to prepare for the next two to four weeks, organize issues and witness lists, and then hold weekly hearings to focus on the hearing.

The impeachment trial is handled by all judges.

Chung Chung-rae of the Democratic Party of Korea, chairman of the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee, will serve as the prosecution committee for the impeachment trial, and President Yoon's lawyers will face it.

President Yoon himself, the respondent and lawyer, may attend in person.

It is a variable that there are currently six constitutional judges with nine seats.

At least six people are needed to make an impeachment decision, and there was a controversy over the legitimacy of the "eight-member system" during the impeachment trial of former President Park, raising the possibility of objection to the sentence of six judges.

To avoid such a controversy, the National Assembly is expected to appoint three parliamentary judges within this month.

If the Constitutional Court cites impeachment, President Yoon should be immediately dismissed and hold the next presidential election within 60 days.

If rejected, President Yoon will be able to return to work immediately.
