The first attempt by a Japanese private company alone to land a satellite into space orbit has failed again.
According to Kyodo News and NHK, Japan's space venture company Space One launched Kyros 2 at around 11 a.m. today (18th) at a private rocket launch site in Kushimoto-cho, southern Wakayama Prefecture, west of Honshu.
The Kyros 2 seemed to be flying normally, but Space One explained that it decided it was difficult to achieve the mission after the launch and took measures to suspend the flight.
The Kyros 2 is a small solid fuel rocket that is 18 meters high and weighs 23 tons.
The rocket was equipped with five satellites from the Taiwan National Space Center (TASA) and Japanese companies, and one satellite was attached with a small Buddha statue wishing for peace at the request of Kyoto Temple.
Space One had planned to launch Kyros 2 on the 14th and 15th, but both days were postponed due to strong winds over the launch site.
The Kyros No. 1, which the company previously launched in March this year, also exploded in the air after detecting an abnormality shortly after launch.
