First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Hong-kyun will visit the U.S. and Japan one after another to explain the domestic situation and communicate directly regarding the declaration of emergency martial law and the impeachment of the president.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Vice Minister Kim Hong-kyun will visit the United States and Japan in turn from today to the 26th.
Vice Minister Kim said he will first visit Washington, D.C., to hold talks with the U.S. and cooperate on Korea-U.S.-Japan cooperation and North Korea issues, including the Korea-U.S. relationship.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that it will then cooperate with the Korea-Japan relationship and prepare for the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations next year through the Korea-Japan foreign ministers' talks in Tokyo, Japan.
Through this visit, Vice Minister Kim is expected to explain the recent declaration of emergency martial law and the domestic situation related to the impeachment of the president and emphasize his willingness to maintain the unchanged diplomatic stance.
