"A three-stage ceasefire is agreed within a few days when the issue is settled"

The remaining issues are difficult, so the optimism for a negotiated settlement is early

It has been predicted that the Gaza war, which has been going on for a year and two months, may soon end.

Foreign media reports that the ceasefire negotiations have been almost concluded have continued through Palestinian officials, and this time attention is being paid to whether it will lead to an actual ceasefire.

Negotiations for a ceasefire in Gaza are 90% complete, the BBC reported, citing a senior Palestinian official.

China's Xinhua News Agency also quoted Palestinian sources as saying a deal was imminent and that a deal could be reached within the year.

However, he added a clue that Israel should not set new conditions.

According to the BBC, the remaining issue is the Israeli military's presence in Gaza.

Negotiations continue over the establishment of a buffer zone on the border between Gaza, Egypt and Israel and the presence of Israeli forces.

If these issues are settled, a three-phase ceasefire could be agreed within days, Palestinian officials said.

However, it seems too early to be optimistic about a settlement as the remaining issues are not easily agreed upon.

Apart from the negotiations, Israel continues its airstrikes in Gaza.

Two houses in central Gaza were hit by Israeli airstrikes, killing at least 10 people, including two children.

On the 20th, an Israeli bombing in Jabalia, northern Gaza, killed 10 members of the family, including seven children at home.

Pope Francis strongly condemned the children's sacrifices.

[Francisco / Pope] This is a atrocity. It's not a war. It's because it hurts my heart to say this.]

In response, Israel protested that the pope's remarks were a double standard, saying that it was not Israel who committed the atrocity, but terrorists.
