Chung Mong-kyu, president of the Korea Football Association, who is trying to win the fourth term, pledged to host the 2031 Asian Cup and the 2035 Women's World Cup.

Candidate Chung held a "Promise Presentation" at the Korea Football Center and stressed that Korea can host the Asian Cup if the Asian Federation provides a little support.

He also said he would put the men's and women's national teams in the top 10 FIFA rankings and re-establish the method of appointing the national team coach.

Candidate Chung made 12 pledges, including personnel reform and governance innovation of the executive branch, establishment of a European center for overseas expansion of excellent players, strengthening soccer player rights and creating jobs.

Candidate Chung, who has led the association for 12 years since 2013, has also been asked to resign, exposing various administrative difficulties such as noise in the process of appointing Hong Myung-bo and attempts to pardon match-fixing officials.

In the presidential election on January 8 next year, Shin Moon-seon, a visiting professor at Myongji University, and Huh Jung-moo, a former coach of the national soccer team, also threw their hat in the ring, and it will be held in a primary for the first time in 12 years.
