Hyundai Motor's first dedicated electric vehicle 'Ionic 5' has been listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the 'largest altitude driving electric vehicle category'.
Hyundai said the "Ionic 5" has been listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for a total of 5,802 meters of elevation from Umringla in northern India to Kutanad in southern India at -3 meters above sea level.
The driving team of Hyundai Motor India and Indian car magazine Ivo India endured this altitude difference with the Ioniq 5 and drove 4,956km in 14 days.
In particular, Ioniq 5 explained that it has overcome harsh driving conditions such as sub-zero temperatures in the Himalayan mountains, steep mountain paths, and humid climates in the Kerala coast in the process of crossing the Indian continent.The
'Ionic5' is the first dedicated electric vehicle developed based on Hyundai Motor Group's E-GMP platform and has been selected for the 2022 World Car of the Year and 2022 German Car of the Year.
