A bill on the appointment of three candidates for the Constitutional Court recommended by the National Assembly, Ma Eun-hyuk, Jeong Gye-seon, and Cho Han-chang, passed the plenary session of the National Assembly.
The Democratic Party of Korea's recommended selection of candidate Ma was approved with 193 votes in favor, one abstaining, and one invalid out of 195 lawmakers present.
Also, the Democratic Party's recommended selection of candidate Chung was approved with 193 votes in favor, one against, and one abstaining.
The candidate Cho's election, recommended by the People's Power, was approved with 185 votes in favor, six against, one abstaining, and three invalid.
Most members of the People's Power did not vote on the motion to appoint a candidate for the Constitutional Court.
The People's Power maintains that Acting President Han Deok-soo does not have the authority to appoint a constitutional judge, and did not participate in the confirmation hearing process earlier.
