A recording of Myung Tae-kyun, a key figure in President Yoon's alleged intervention in the nomination of a couple, intervened in the 2022 Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering subcontract strike was released.

It is suspected that Myung reported a "hard crackdown" to President Yoon and his wife at the time, which was reflected in the government's response.

In June 2022, workers of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering's subcontractors occupied oil tankers and went on strike demanding higher wages and less manpower in the shipbuilding industry.

At the time, Yoon Suk Yeol's president stressed the rule of law and hinted at a hard-line response.

The Democratic Party of Korea released the related recordings, raising suspicions that Myung Tae-kyun, a key figure in the alleged intervention of the Yoon couple's nomination, was involved in the government's stance at the time.

claimed that on the way to the strike site with an acquaintance, he was asked by President Yoon and received data from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering to report a hard-line crackdown.
