Former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun, who was handed over to trial in connection with the emergency martial law incident, protested the prosecution's press release containing the counterintelligence command dispatch team's group chat room, saying it goes against the Japanese principle of indictment.
Yoo Seung-soo, a lawyer representing former Minister Kim, told YTN, "The prosecution attached pictures of Kakao Talk chat rooms or baseball bats to the press release," adding, "We will definitely raise the issue legally as an act that goes against the Japanese principle of the prosecutor."
Charges Japaneseism is the principle of criminal proceedings that the prosecution should not write facts unrelated to the charges that can inculcate a judge of guilt.
The prosecution distributed press references to the press corps today (27th) while arresting and prosecuting former Minister Kim on charges of engaging in important missions against him.
These included a group chat room for key figures, which includes a message to arrest and detain three people, including National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik, or photos of baseball bats and hammers prepared by the NEC staff.
