Jeju Air said in a notice posted on its website on the 29th, "We Jeju Air will do everything we can for this accident."

Jeju Air is currently holding an emergency meeting hosted by CEO Kim Yi-bae at the Jeju Air Office of the Aviation Support Center in Gangseo-gu, Seoul.

It is reported that all executives and team leader-level employees have been called up.

Jeju Air will set up a separate press center later for a press briefing.

An official from Jeju Air said, "We are trying to find out the exact cause and situation," adding, "The aircraft has been confirmed to have been in use for 15 years and there is no history of accidents. We will check whether there is a history of failure."

According to the National Fire Agency, Jeju Air Flight 7C2216 from Bangkok, Thailand, crashed at 9:03 a.m. while attempting to land on the runway of Muan International Airport.

The aircraft carrying 181 passengers and crew members was halved, caught fire and caused multiple casualties when it collided with the outer wall of the runway.
