Gasoline and diesel prices sold at domestic gas stations have risen for 12 consecutive weeks this week.
According to the Korea National Oil Corporation's oil price information system Opinet, the average gasoline price in the first week of January was 1,671 won per liter, up 8.8 won from the previous week.
Seoul, which has the highest price, was counted at 1,729.6 won, and Daegu, which has the lowest price, was counted at 1,643.1 won.
The cheapest brand was the Affordable Gas Station, which cost 1,645.2 won per liter.
Diesel prices rose 9 won to 1,516.3 won per liter.
The Korea National Oil Association predicted that oil prices would rise even more next week than next week.
