Amid the martial law crisis and impeachment, attention is being paid to what position the U.S. will take and whether it will meet with Acting President Choi Sang-mok.

Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yeol will hold a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken, who visited Korea on his farewell tour.

The two sides plan to discuss the South Korea-U.S. alliance, cooperation among South Korea, the U.S. and Japan, and North Korea issues.

North Korea's dispatch of troops to Russia and close ties with North Korea are also expected to be major agendas.

The heads of foreign affairs of the two countries will hold a press conference to announce the outcome of the talks.

Through this meeting, the government plans to reiterate its strong alliance with the U.S. despite the unstable domestic situation leading to emergency martial law and impeachment.

The U.S. has expressed concern about declaring martial law and supported Korean democracy, but we are interested in whether it will come up with an additional position.

In particular, Secretary Blinken is expected to prevent acting President Choi Sang-mok, who is expected to send confidence in the acting system.

Meanwhile, the fourth meeting of the Korea-U.S. Nuclear Consultative Group (NCG), which was canceled due to martial law, will be held in Washington, U.S. on the 10th.

In addition, Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya will visit Korea on the 13th to hold a foreign ministerial meeting between Korea and Japan.

The government seems to be speeding up diplomatic activities that have been delayed for a while, such as coordinating the hosting of the three-nation foreign ministers' meeting.
