Jeong Myung-seok, the JMS religious leader who called himself the Messiah and committed sex crimes against three Goddesses for about three years from February 2018, has been sentenced to 17 years in prison.
The Supreme Court kept the original ruling on Jeong intact.
Electronic anklets have been attached for 15 years and child and youth-related institutions have been banned from employment for 10 years.
The issue of the trial was whether religiously brainwashed victims could be considered psychologically rebellious or irresistible.
Until now, Jeong has denied his charges, saying that the victims were not brainwashed or irresistible, but the Supreme Court has found all of Jeong's charges guilty.
They decided that religious indoctrination could also be considered a kind of insurrection.
The victims of JMS welcomed it, saying they learned that there is justice after a long fight.

Jeong is on trial in the Daejeon District Court for allegedly sexually assaulting other goddesses.
If he is found guilty again here, Chung's combined sentence is expected to increase further.
