Mercedes-Benz Korea, the local importer of German Daimler AG's luxury car brand, is recalling more than 16,000 vehicles due to a flaw that could cause engine fires.
The South Korean transport ministry said on Sunday that the cars being recalled are 16,504 E-class and CLS-class sedans that were imported from July 2012 to December 2014.
The ministry said that a rubber seal designed to muffle vibration and noise could stick to the engine, resulting in the risk of a fire.
