Ministry of Foreign Affairs Invites Russian Ambassador to South Korea to Protest 'Sending Forces to North Korea'

The South Korean government invited the Russian ambassador to South Korea to convey its protest against the North Korean military's dispatch to the war in Ukraine.

Deputy Foreign Minister Kim Hong-kyun called Russian Ambassador to South Korea Georgi Zinoviev to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building this afternoon to convey his concerns about Russia's acceptance of North Korea's dispatch of special forces.

It is also believed to have conveyed a protest against strengthening illegal military cooperation between North Korea and Russia.

The government is reportedly seeking countermeasures, including the addition of independent sanctions against North Korea, as North Korea has officially sent combat troops to help Russia.
