9.8% and 5%.
There was still a difference in position over the food delivery relay fee.
The delivery platform-occupancy win-win consultative body failed to reach an agreement on the issue of commission rates, which is a key issue even at the 9th meeting.
The stores demanded a 2% to 5% differential fee with a 5% upper limit on the brokerage fee rate.
Earlier, Baedal Minjok came up with a plan to apply a 2-6.8% fee, lower than the previous commission rate of 9.8%, only to owners with the bottom 40% of sales.
Coupang Eats proposed a plan to require the store owner to pay the delivery fee it was paying instead of lowering the fee to 5%.
Public interest committee members persuaded both sides, but they couldn't reach an agreement.
Delivery drivers also held rallies and protested, calling them the "half consultative body" they were missing.
[Gil Han-sam / President of Ryder Union Chungbuk Branch of the Public Transport Workers' Union: The data released by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in 2022 also said that delivery workers work 25.6 days (a month). Working so long and hard is possible because of Baedal Minjok, Coupang Eats' low fares.]
The government said there was a consensus on the direction of the remaining demands made by the companies.
It has been agreed to indicate the cost of the store, such as fees and delivery fees, on the consumer receipt.
In addition, both Baemin and Coupang Eats have decided to suspend the current terms of membership benefits, including demands for Choi Hye treatment.
We also decided to share the location of the delivery driver only for a certain section.
The win-win consultative body decided to hold an additional meeting next week, November 4.
If the agreement fails even after more than 100 days of consultation beyond the target deadline, regulatory public opinion through legislation is expected to grow further along with the uselessness of self-consultation.
