The "Yoon Suk Yeol Presidential Impeachment Congressional Solidarity" has been officially launched, with 41 lawmakers from five opposition parties, including the Democratic Party of Korea.
Rep. Park Soo-hyun of the Democratic Party, the leader of the impeachment alliance, said at the inauguration ceremony that the public's voice calling for President Yoon's impeachment is growing as much as it was during the impeachment of former President Park Geun Hye, and argued that it is natural for lawmakers to respond to and act on the public's voice.
Hwang Un-ha, floor leader of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, said that the Democratic Party, which has the number of seats that can be independently initiated, must have judged whether it would be strategically helpful to officially mention impeachment, and asked hesitant lawmakers to join.
