The People's Power criticized the launch of the "National Assembly Solidarity for Impeaching President Yoon Suk Yeol" by 40 lawmakers from five opposition parties, including the Democratic Party, as a bulletproof political offensive for Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party.
Kwak Kyu-taek, a senior spokesman, issued an op-ed, saying that he strongly condemned the opposition's act of inciting the people by using the National Assembly, the hall of the people, as a venue for impeachment rallies.
He then pointed out that the Democratic Party's leadership is trying to draw the line that individual lawmakers participate voluntarily even though their party members are named, but the more they deny their feet, the more lame excuses will only pile up.
Floor spokesman Park Joon-tae also criticized the launch of the impeachment solidarity at the National Assembly, saying that such an anti-constitutional event would not have been held at the National Assembly without Lee's judicial risk, and that the public's eyebrows are raised at the reckless attempt to threaten the constitutional order.
