The police, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and the National Institute of Science will conduct an on-site inspection today at Hyundai Motor's Ulsan plant, where three researchers died in a suffocation accident yesterday (19th).
First of all, the police focus on checking whether the researcher is negligent and facility problems to find the cause of the death of the researcher.
The factory where the accident occurred is a workplace with more than five full-time employees, so the Ministry of Employment and Labor will examine whether it violates the Serious Accident Punishment Act.
Earlier, at around 3:20 p.m. yesterday, three researchers who suffocated in an enclosed place conducting a vehicle performance test were found and taken to a hospital, but all died.
The accident occurred where a vehicle was put in and an extreme environment was created to check the performance of the vehicle, and the researchers were found to be in the driver's seat, passenger seat, and back seat of the vehicle.
Police checked the closed space yesterday after no further news after the radio that the experiment began at 12:50 p.m. and that it would only proceed for another 30 minutes at 2 p.m., and secured a factory official's statement that the researchers had collapsed.
