"A high-ranking North Korean general is injured in an airstrike in Ukraine."

2024.11.22 AM 08:37
A senior North Korean general was injured in a recent Ukrainian airstrike in Kursk, Russia, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing Western officials.

This is the first time that a Western official has revealed the injury of a high-ranking North Korean officer.

The officials did not identify the general or say he was injured.

Earlier, the Ukrainian government pointed to Deputy Chief of Staff Kim Young-bok, Reconnaissance General Director Lee Chang-ho, and Major General Shin Geum-chul of the People's Army as senior generals leading the North Korean troops.

Ukraine reportedly hit a building believed to be Kursk's military command center with a British-made Storm Shadow missile on the 20th, and a Russian blogger claimed several North Korean soldiers were in the building at the time of the attack.

The West and our intelligence authorities understand that North Korea sent more than 10,000 soldiers to Russia to participate in the fighting in the Ukrainian-occupied Kursk region.

The North Korean mission to the United Nations did not respond to requests for coverage, the Wall Street Journal added.
