While the first snow poured down as an unusual snow bomb for the first time in 117 years, strong snow is concentrating again in Seoul and other metropolitan areas.

There's a possibility that it'll last longer, so you need to be careful. I'm connecting with the reporter. Reporter Jung Hyeyoon!

Snow is getting stronger in Seoul again?

[Reporter]
Yes, it is.

A little while ago, strong snow began to fall in Seoul around 11 p.m.

Snow clouds developed in the West Sea are flowing inland through the west wind.

If you look at the radar, snow clouds are created from the sea off the west coast of Gyeonggi-do and are flowing inland.

You can see a long band of snow clouds in the western sea.

This cloud is connected to the metropolitan area such as Seoul and continues to move as if it were a passage.

In particular, the cloud is moving at a speed of about 60 kilometers per hour, so there is a possibility that strong snow will continue for a little longer in Seoul and inland Gyeonggi Province.

Please pay special attention as there is a possibility that a lot of snow will be concentrated again overnight.

Currently, the amount of snow is increasing by 1 to 5cm per hour, mainly in the metropolitan area.

So far, as much as 31cm of snow has fallen in Idong-eup, Cheoin-gu, Yongin, and 28.9cm of heavy snow has also been recorded in Gwanak-gu, Seoul.

It is the first time in 117 years that so much snow has fallen in November since 1907 when weather observations began based on Seoul.

So is the heavy snow warning still going on?

[Reporter]
Yes, heavy snow warnings are in place in all areas of Seoul, southeastern Gyeonggi Province, Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, Eumseong, Chungcheongbuk-do, and Jincheon.

The area is expected to have more than 20cm of snowfall in 24 hours, and it is necessary to continue to be vigilant about heavy snow until tomorrow.

In addition, strong wind warnings are continuing in Chungcheong, Honam, Yeongnam's east coast, and Jeju Island, and wind and waves special warnings are continuing at sea.

There will be high waves of up to 5m or more at sea, centering on the special report area, and strong winds of around 20m per second will blow on the coast and inland.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) predicted that more snow could fall in Gyeonggi Province, up to 25 centimeters, and Seoul, up to 10 centimeters.

In addition, up to 20cm more snow is expected in Gangwon-do, 15cm in Chungcheong-do, and 10cm more in Honam.

In particular, the temperature is expected to drop further due to the strong cold southward overnight, raising concerns about icy roads everywhere.

The temperature in Seoul morning will peak from -1.3 degrees Celsius today to -2 degrees Celsius tomorrow and -4 degrees Celsius the day after tomorrow.

In addition, this snow is a "wet snow" full of moisture and a large amount is concentrated, increasing damage to facilities everywhere.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said that as more snow is concentrated overnight, the damage caused by wet snow could increase, and urged people to remove snow accumulated in greenhouses or weak buildings.

This snow will strengthen until tomorrow morning and then lull from the day.

However, as the cold gets stronger, snow is expected to continue until Friday in Chungcheong and Honam regions.
