The prosecution will arrest and indict Myung Tae-kyun and former lawmaker Kim Young-sun today (3rd).

The plan is to first prosecute the charges of violating the Political Fund Act.

The two are accused of exchanging 76 million won on 16 occasions in three months from August 2022.

He is also accused of receiving 120 million won and 240 million won in total from two preliminary candidates in the Yeongnam region for the 2022 local elections.

The prosecution may apply additional charges of concealing evidence or destroying evidence in connection with allegations that Myung should hide three mobile phones by making his brother-in-law hide.

Prosecutors are also expected to prosecute two potential candidates in Yeongnam who are suspected of giving money to them in hopes of nominating candidates.

It is also expected that Kim Tae-yeol, the registered representative of the Future Korea Research Institute, which the prosecution identified as an accomplice when requesting an arrest warrant, will be prosecuted.

In the future, the prosecution is expected to investigate suspicions raised so far, including "the suspicion of intervening in the selection of the site of Changwon 2nd National Industrial Complex."
