Media collaboration groups have called for the withdrawal of any of the backgrounds behind the declaration of martial law described by President Yoon Suk Yeol, saying that none of them fall under the relevant reasons stipulated by the Constitution.
Eight media organizations, including the Korea Journalists Association, issued an emergency joint statement today (4th) and criticized the declaration of emergency martial law as a declaration of war against the people, as well as the media and political opponents.
On-the-job journalists said they will resist with the people to the end to protect democracy and freedom of the press in the Republic of Korea, stressing that President Yoon, who threatens the people with power delegated by the people, should step down immediately.
