Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Choi Sang-mok held an emergency meeting of economy-related ministers last night and announced the government's position on the situation.
Deputy Prime Minister Choi said he will do his best to resolve economic issues so as not to affect our economy, business activities, and the daily lives of the people under any circumstances.
To alleviate concerns about our economic situation, the government has decided to communicate closely with international credit rating agencies, economic lines in major countries such as the United States, domestic economic organizations, and financial markets and share the situation quickly.
Deputy Prime Minister Choi stressed that he will operate a 24-hour TF to check the economic and financial situation to prevent a real economic shock, operate a real-time monitoring system, and take thorough care of related agencies to prevent disruptions in exports.
In order for our economy to return to a stable state, it is more important than ever for each economic entity, including the people, companies, and the government, to work together, urging them to continue their livelihoods and business activities in their respective areas so that investment, employment, and consumption can be maintained normally.
Choi said the government will also do its best to ensure that the uncertainties facing our economy are resolved quickly.
