Eleven civic representatives have been selected to participate in the "Jewel of the Night Bell" bell event in Bosingak, Seoul, this year.
Citizens' representatives were selected from more than 90 people who were recommended for the citizens' contest as people who have devoted themselves to sharing and service or who have overcome adversity and given hope.
The civic representatives included Shin Kyung-soon, who has been volunteering to share rice for 39 years, Kim Ki-tak, who contributed to the spread of his father's parenting culture, Kim Chun-sim, who has served more than 20,000 hours, Park Joon-hyun, a firefighter who saved a driver just before crashing on a bridge, Lee Seung-ki, who donated blood more than 700 times in 45 years, and a blind YouTuber, "One Shot Hansol."
In addition, actor Ko Doo-sim, honorary mayor of Seoul City, baseball leader Kim Sung-geun, actor Kim Seok-hoon, who spreads environmental protection messages, Kwak Kyung-hee, who has supported single mothers and multicultural families, and the city's representative character "Hatch" will also participate.
