Cold wave warnings were issued throughout the central part of the country, and this morning, the temperature felt was around minus 10 degrees Celsius.
Since the beginning of winter, many people will expect a snow-covered Christmas due to frequent snow, but it seems difficult to expect a complete "white Christmas" this year.
I'm connecting with the reporter.
Reporter Kim Min-kyung, the cold was severe this morning, how low was the temperature?
[Reporter]
Yes, this morning, Bongpyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do, was the coldest in the country at minus 20.5 degrees,
The freezing cold continued in many parts of the country, including -18.8 degrees in Anheung-myeon, Hoengseong-myeon, ∀, -15.5 degrees in Cheorwon, and -13.7 degrees in Jangsu, Jeollabuk-do.
The wind was rather strong, so the wind chill was even lower.
The central and northern regions of Muju, including -24.7 degrees Celsius in Seolcheonbong Peak, -22.6 degrees Celsius in Goseong Hyangrobong Peak, and -19.2 degrees Celsius in Daegwallyeong, were around -20 degrees Celsius, and most of the inland areas were below -10 degrees Celsius.
In Seoul, the morning temperature dropped to minus 5 degrees Celsius and the wind chill dropped to minus 9.2 degrees Celsius.
While the cold air came down from the north, the temperature fell further as radiant cooling was added overnight.
Even in the middle of the day, some parts of Gangwon-do, such as Daegwallyeong, will stay below zero, while Seoul will be below 10 degrees, including 4 degrees and Daejeon 6 degrees.
The cold will ease a bit by recovering to normal temperatures around Thursday, but the temperature in Seoul is expected to drop to minus 7 degrees Celsius again on Friday and a bitter cold spell is expected to rise again.

The day after tomorrow is Christmas, but it's hard to expect a complete "White Christmas" this year?
[Reporter]
Yes, it snowed a lot even before the start of winter, so many people must have been looking forward to "White Christmas."
Unlike last year, when we celebrated a white Christmas for the first time in eight years, it seems unlikely that snow will fall during the day this year.
This is because from Christmas Eve to the afternoon of the day, the whole country is expected to be mostly sunny under the influence of high pressure.
However, after the high pressure recedes, a weak trough passes from the north, and some areas are likely to receive rain or snow from late night on Christmas Day.
However, the amount of snow is not large, and the timing of precipitation is uncertain, so the volatility is still very high.
The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said that the forecast results are different for each numerical forecast model, so further analysis is needed, and that specific snowfall information will be announced in the afternoon.
