The Guri Police Station in Gyeonggi Province urgently arrested a man in his 50s on charges of stealing money and running away after he broke into a coffee shop and tried to rape the store owner with a weapon.
Mr. A is accused of trying to rape a female shopkeeper who was alone by threatening to enter a coffee shop in Guri-si, Gyeonggi-do at around 10:05 p.m. the day before yesterday (29th).
When the sexual assault attempt ended in failure, A took away about 270,000 won in cash and ran away, according to the investigation.
According to a police investigation, A tried to avoid tracking by riding a taxi or bus without a specific destination, or sleeping in a sauna.
Mr. A has been in and out of the victim's coffee shop as a customer and is said to have known the victim.
