Artificial Intelligence (AI) chip giant Nvidia shares rose more than 3% to hit a new all-time high.
Nvidia shares closed at $149.43 on the New York Stock Exchange, up 3.43% from the previous day, reaching an all-time high of $148.88 on November 7 last year.
In particular, Taiwan's Foxconn, a partner in Nvidia's semiconductors, saw a 15% increase in sales in the fourth quarter of last year, above the market's average 13% increase.
Nvidia's rival AMD also rose 3.33%, while other AI chipmakers Qualcomm and Broadcom rose 1.28% and 1.66%, respectively, while the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index, comprised of semiconductor-related stocks, rose 2.84%.
Major technology stocks "Magnificent 7" were also strong, including Nvidia, with Meta's shares up 4.23% and Alphabet's up 2.5% and Microsoft's up 1.06%.
