The Israeli military said on the 12th local time that a total of 320 rockets and other projectiles were flown from Lebanon's pro-Iranian militant group Hezbollah during the country's biggest holiday, Atonement Day.

The Israeli military continued, "We will continue to protect the country and its people from the threat of Hezbollah terrorist organizations."

'Atonement Day' is a holiday based on the Old Testament Leviticus, and Jews fast and repent of their sins on this day without doing anything.

This is the first time Israel has faced the holiday in the midst of war since the fourth Middle East War in 1973, when Egypt and Syria raided Israel.

Earlier, Western media predicted that Israel would refrain from large-scale attacks such as retaliatory airstrikes on Iran until the end of the atonement.

The Israeli military did not make any statements regarding the situation, such as the ground war in southern Lebanon or the bombing of Hezbollah on the day of this atonement.

"Over the past day, ground forces have eliminated 50 terrorists in southern Lebanon and the air force has struck about 200 Hezbollah terrorist targets," the Israeli military said in a statement after sunset.

He also explained that Lebanon and Gaza combined to attack a total of 280 targets, including the killing of about 20 Palestinian militant Hamas members in Gaza's Zabaliya area alone.
