"8 Billion Charges" Cousin Brothers commuted in the second trial..."Efforts to recover damage"

A cousin brother who bought dozens of villas through a capital-free gap investment method and then stole more than 8 billion won in jeonse from tenants was commuted at the appeal trial.


The Seoul Central District Court sentenced Kim and his cousin Lee, who were accused of fraud, to four and a half years in prison and two years in prison, respectively.

Jang, a broker assistant who was handed over to trial as an accomplice, was sentenced to four years in prison.

The court explained that they deceived the victims and that the amount of damage was so large that the crime was bad.

However, he explained that a large part of the damage recovery has been made, and that they acknowledge all responsibilities and have no significant criminal history.

Earlier in May, the first trial court sentenced Kim to five years in prison, Lee to three years in prison, and Jang to five years in prison.

From March 2019 to January of the following year, they were arrested and charged with stealing 8 billion won in deposit money from about 30 tenants in Gangseo-gu and Yangcheon-gu, Seoul.
