Japan's Tokyo Electric Power Co. began discharging the 10th marine discharge of contaminated water from the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant on the 17th, Kyodo News reported.

The 10th discharge will run until the 4th of next month, and the discharge will be 7,800 tons, the same as the previous round.

TEPCO explained that the concentration of radioactive substances such as tritium was below the standard as a result of collecting and analyzing samples from the measuring and confirmation tanks.

Earlier on August 24 last year, Tokyo Electric Power Co. began discharging contaminated water into the ocean and diluted about 70,000 tons of contaminated water with seawater nine times to send it off the Fukushima nuclear power plant.

Tokyo Electric Power Co. said it plans to conduct the 11th discharge from February to March next year after conducting the 10th discharge this year and then inspecting it.
