NK News, a U.S. media outlet specializing in North Korea, reported that a high-level Russian delegation has been detected visiting North Korea.

According to FlightTrader 24, the Ilyushin Il-96-300 aircraft operated by the Russian Special Squadron departed from Moscow's Benukovo Airport at around 5 a.m. today and arrived at Pyongyang International Airport at around 2:30 p.m. Korean time.

The aircraft is known to be used by the Kremlin team, which carries out Russian President Vladimir Putin.

NK News reported that the plane's arrival in Pyongyang may have been used to bring a high-level Russian delegation to North Korea.

The Russian Special Squadron operates more than a dozen aircraft labeled 'Il-96'.

The formation also includes a private plane that Putin used when he came to Pyongyang for a summit in June.
