SK Hynix recorded its highest-ever performance in the third quarter of this year due to high bandwidth memory and HBM effects.

It is analyzed that it has surpassed Samsung Electronics again in the semiconductor business due to its all-time performance.

SK Hynix flew much faster in the third quarter of this year.

Operating profit is KRW 7.3 trillion, sales are KRW 17.6 trillion, and net profit is KRW 5.8 trillion, all of which are the highest on a quarterly basis.

In particular, operating profit and net profit broke the record for the third quarter of 2018, the highest boom in semiconductors, in six years.

This is expected to have overtaken Samsung Electronics once again in the semiconductor business.

Samsung Electronics' third-quarter semiconductor business operating profit, which will be announced next week, is estimated to be around KRW 4 trillion.

At this rate, SK Hynix will lead Samsung Electronics again in the first quarter of this year.

It is HBM, a high-bandwidth memory required for artificial intelligence semiconductors, that has given wings to all-time performance.

SK Hynix dominated the HBM market early on and is effectively exclusively supplying "big hands" Nvidia.

In the fourth quarter, we plan to continue to lead the market by supplying the current advanced 12-layer products in earnest.

It dismissed concerns about slowing HBM demand raised by some as "premature" and said it would expand production.

SK Hynix expressed strong confidence, saying that it will not be easy for other memory industries to supply enough products that customers want in a timely manner due to technological advancement.
