"Changing drivers" after a drunk driving accident...men's and women's imprisonment

A man and a woman were sentenced to prison for attempting to exchange passengers and drivers after causing a contact accident while driving under the influence of alcohol in a parking lot.

The Incheon District Court sentenced a 28-year-old woman, A, to eight months in prison on charges of drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act.

A 30-year-old passenger who was put on trial for aiding and abetting drunk driving was also sentenced to six months in prison.

The court said that the crime is heavy because A repeated the same crime even though he had a history of being fined for drunk driving.

Mr. A is accused of driving while drinking in the villa parking lot in Incheon last year.

A, who has a history of being fined for driving under the influence of alcohol, is also accused of asking for a false statement as if the man he was driving with had an accident.
