The active movement of the Marafi volcano on Indonesia's Sumatra island, which erupted four times a day, has raised concerns among nearby residents.


According to the Antara news agency on the 28th local time, the Indonesian Volcano Geological Disaster Prevention Center announced that the Marafi volcano erupted four times in the morning and afternoon of the previous day.

In particular, at 9:56 a.m. the previous day, the volcano erupted and the ash soared 2km high from the top.

As the eruption continued, the village near Marafi volcano was covered with volcanic debris, and hikers and villagers were banned from entering the crater within 3km.

The prevention center explained that volcanic activity has been rapidly active since the 7th, with earthquakes continuously detected on Marafi volcano.Indonesia, which is in the Pacific Rim midwifery called the

'Ring of Fire', has about 120 active volcanoes alone.

The Marafi volcano, which erupted this time, also erupted suddenly in December last year, killing 24 hikers and injuring several others.
