Park Hak-sun, who is accused of murdering a woman he was dating and her daughter, was sentenced to life imprisonment in the first trial.

The Seoul Central District Court today (1st) sentenced 65-year-old Park Hak-sun to life in prison for murder.

The court said, "I can't even dare to estimate the pain and trauma of the bereaved family that the victims must have felt," adding, "Park should be permanently isolated from society and repent of his wrongdoings for the rest of his life."

In addition, he refused to accept Park's claim that it was an accidental crime, saying that he had made several remarks that he would kill the victim and prepared by blocking the victims' escape routes.

Park was arrested and charged with murdering a woman in her 60s and her daughter, who were dating at an officetel in Gangnam, Seoul, in late May.When Mr. A was notified of the breakup because his family objected, Mr. Park
visited the office, killed his daughter first, and then chased Mr. A who ran away and killed her.

Earlier, the prosecution asked the court to sentence Park to death at a final hearing in September.
