The Democratic Party of Korea, which launched a general offensive against the ruling party after disclosing a recording of the phone call between President Yoon Suk Yeol and Myung Tae-kyun, is preparing for a large-scale outdoor rally today calling for the independent counsel Kim Gun-hee.

Amid the deepening struggles of the ruling camp on the defensive, President Yoon is likely to miss the National Assembly's budget speech scheduled the day after tomorrow.

The official name of the rally was National Action Day, which condemns the Yoon Suk Yeol President and his wife's manipulation of state affairs and calls for a special prosecution.

The party leadership, including Chairman Lee Jae-myung, and all members of the party, as well as local chairmen, party members, and supporters across the country were ordered to mobilize.

Initially, the rally was designed to condemn various suspicions surrounding First Lady Kim Gun-hee, including allegations of involvement in Deutsche Motors stock price manipulation.

However, after disclosing the phone recording with Myung Tae-kyun, which caused suspicions of President Yoon's involvement in the nomination on the day before yesterday, the focus seems to have shifted to allegations of manipulation of state affairs by the president and his wife.

A party official told YTN on the phone that there were no plans for additional off-the-shelf action after today, but said the first rally was important and expected tens of thousands of people to attend.

Representative Lee Jae-myung also encouraged participation in the rally on social media, saying that the power to reestablish the collapsed hope lies with the acting sovereign.

The People's Power defined today's Democratic Party rally as a customized bulletproof rally for representative Lee Jae-myung ahead of the first trial this month.

Floor spokesman Park Joon-tae said that the Democratic Party was immersed in sedition politics by calling for impeachment, martial law, and resignation until the last day of the parliamentary audit, arguing that all activities of the party are geared toward impeaching the president and that the purpose is Lee's judicial risk bulletproof.

But internally, it also reads a puzzling atmosphere.

A key party official told YTN on the phone that for now, we have no choice but to watch the development of public opinion.It says there is no legal problem with the recording of President

Yoon's phone call, but it is not the public perception, he said, adding that moral and political perception is important.

In the same vein, he also expressed his discontent towards Presidential Chief of Staff Chung Jin-suk, who explained at the parliamentary inspection of the presidential office yesterday that there was no problem legally or in common sense.

Yoon did not attend the opening ceremony of the 22nd National Assembly in September, which seems to be considering the situation in which the contents of the phone call with Myung Tae-kyun are disclosed and the ruling and opposition parties continue an extreme confrontation over the special prosecution.

If the president does not deliver a speech on this year's budget, this will be the first time in 11 years since 2013.
