Construction contractor arrested who pocketed 230 million won for false reports of overdue wages

A construction contractor who conspired with subcontractors and falsely reported wages in arrears and won more than 200 million won in subsidies has been arrested.

Seongnam Branch of the Central Regional Employment and Labor Office of the Ministry of Employment and Labor arrested a 50-year-old construction contractor suspected of violating the Wage Bond Guarantee Act.

Mr. A is accused of ordering false statements to the Labor Office last year, just as employees of subcontractors did not receive money even though they worked for his company.

This was aimed at the so-called simplified payment, in which the country pays wages on behalf of employers who are not capable of paying wages, and the simplified payment, which 18 employees of subcontractors falsely reported, amounted to 230 million won.
