California Gov. "I'll stop 'policy reversal'"

The U.S. state of California is preparing for the threat of state policy due to the election of former President Donald Trump.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, called on the state legislature to convene an extraordinary session in December to protect the state's progressive policies on the 7th local time.

I decided to ask the state legislature to provide more funding to the attorney general's office to prepare for future lawsuits regarding state policy against the federal government.

This is due to concerns that if Trump enters the White House, state policies on climate change, abortion rights and immigration could be overturned by the Republican Party's new federal government.

"When the freedoms that we cherish in California are attacked, we will not stand still," Governor Newsom said. "California has already faced challenges like this, and we know how to respond to them."

"The governor and state legislators are preparing to protect the state law from (the next) Trump administration policies or measures and ensure it is not affected," the governor's office explained.

In order to protect abortion rights, the state is supporting women in other states to come to California and receive abortions.

It also mandates the introduction of eco-friendly cars for all vehicles, including electric, hydrogen, and hybrid vehicles sold in the state by 2035, and provides health insurance to all low-income families regardless of immigrant status.

"In the past, during the Trump administration, California resisted maintaining progressive values and policies against the federal government's policies, and this move is causing a similar move again," the Associated Press said.

It also explained that the state has been a center of "Trump resistance" in the past, and that Trump has constantly criticized California for illegal immigrants, homelessness and complicated regulatory issues.
