The People's Power will hold a general meeting of lawmakers on the 14th, when the plenary session of the National Assembly is scheduled, to discuss pending issues, including the recommendation of candidates for the special inspector.
Kim Sang-hoon, chairman of the policy committee, said at a press conference at the National Assembly that he would avoid handling the vote or causing conflicts between the party.
He added that as the Democratic Party of Korea claims that the special inspector is a trick to avoid the independent counsel law, it will be necessary to wait and see if the ruling and opposition parties can agree smoothly.
In a phone call with YTN, a floor official said that the general atmosphere within the party seems to be that we should not vote on a special inspector, but that it is difficult to predict which direction the decision will be made at the general meeting of lawmakers.
Earlier, representative Han Dong-hoon has publicly demanded that Kim Gun-hee recommend a candidate for special inspector to solve the problem and block the Special Prosecutor Act.
