U.S. President-elect Trump says he is creating an executive order for a large-scale illegal immigrant deportation program to be implemented on his first day in office.

Trump also nominated a "border tsar" to oversee border and immigration issues, and his move is noteworthy because he is an anti-immigration hardliner.

U.S. President-elect Trump's key campaign pledge was to crack down on illegal immigration.

[Donald Trump / Then-Presidential Candidate (last two days): On his first day in office, he will launch the largest criminal deportation program in U.S. history.]

Caroline Rabbit, a spokeswoman for the transition team, said aides are actually working on an executive order to sign after Trump takes office on January 20 next year.

It also added that it will restore the policy of immigration applicants to remain in Mexico, which was introduced during Trump's first term.

Trump also named a "border tsar" to oversee border control.

Tom Homan, who served as acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement during the first administration, said he would oversee border control, monitoring and deportation of illegal immigrants, and praised that there was no better person.

The border tsar' is the second high-ranking official to be unveiled after the White House chief of staff, demonstrating the importance of immigration policy Trump thinks. It is not clear exactly what the

border tsar's job is, but it is expected to oversee government agencies and departments related to border controls and immigration.

Trump has vowed to expel more than a million illegal immigrants, but critics point out that it is not easy in practice.

Not only does it require large-scale detention facilities, but if only rapid deportation is emphasized, controversy over human rights violations cannot be avoided.

[John Sandwek / Former Acting Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement: The highest number of deportations during Trump's first term was 267,000, so we need to quadruple that. How would you do that?]

Homan said he would fully prepare for the worst, and he was confident that there would be no human rights problems in the process of large-scale deportation.
