The Democratic Party of Korea demanded an explanation from the president's office, raising suspicions that Myung Tae-kyun was on a KTX presidential special train when First Lady Kim Gun-hee visited Bongha Village in Gimhae, South Gyeongsang Province, in June 2022.
The party's "Myeong Tae-kyun Gate Fact-Finding Team" held a press conference at the National Assembly and pointed out that an acquaintance of the president's wife used public resources privately.
The presidential office then emphasized that as the second office of confidence is launched as if it could solve the "Kim's risk," transparent and official explanations should be given to all newly raised suspicions.
The state intervention investigation headquarters for Changwon Industrial Complex under the fact-finding team also held a separate conference and raised suspicions that Myung was deeply involved in the site selection, such as receiving reports from high-ranking officials and guiding the government's due diligence team in person.
