The personal information of a 38-year-old active-duty army officer identified only by his surname Yang, who damaged and abandoned the body after killing a female military officer, will be released today (13th).

The Gangwon Police Agency announced today (the 13th) that it will disclose Yang's personal information, including his name, age, and photo, through the Gangwon Police Agency's website.

Earlier, Yang filed for an injunction for suspension of execution in protest of the decision to disclose personal information, but the court refused to accept it, saying there was no risk of damage expected from the disclosure of personal information.

Yang, who is scheduled to be promoted to lieutenant colonel from the Korea Military Academy, is accused of killing A, a military officer who worked with him while working in the same unit, damaging the body, and dumping it in the area of the Bukhangang River on the 25th of last month.

Earlier, the Gangwon Police Agency handed over Yang to the prosecution yesterday (12th) on charges of murder, damage to the body, and abandonment of the body.

A police investigation found that Yang, who has a family, and A, who is single, have been in an inappropriate relationship since the beginning of this year and have been in conflict with the transfer of the unit ahead of the expiration of their term of office, respectively, and that Yang committed the crime after a dispute.

In particular, Yang was found to have committed premeditated crimes by searching for fake license plates of his vehicle, deleting calls on his and the victim's mobile phones after the crime, and impersonating the victim to police officers who reported him missing.
