Democratic Party "Political Judgment in sympathy with President's killing of political opponents"

The Democratic Party of Korea claimed yesterday (15th) that the results of the first trial of Lee Jae-myung's violation of the election law were a "political judgment" in which the president sympathized with killing all-in political opponents throughout his term.

Spokesperson Han Min-soo said at a National Assembly briefing, "We will use representative Lee as a sacrifice to prevent the alleged manipulation of state affairs and election intervention by the Yoon Suk Yeol president and his wife."

He added that even leading conservative commentators criticized the judiciary's decision to judge verbal conflicts that occurred during the election as limiting democracy and calling it a wrong ruling.

Supreme Council member Kim Min-seok also criticized in an SNS post that it was a contradictory political judgment, saying, "What would you explain about the ruling of an unprecedented prison sentence in response to a failed parliamentary audit?"
